This civ tier list is based on how strong a civ is in a 1v1 ranked situation! Hopefully you can take something away from this and focus on the stronger civs if you're having a little difficulty in games. How close am I? Lemme know :)

Yeah you nailed it! Game is really well balanced. Ports some buff, USA some nerfs and it will be fine. Hause is in my Opinion not S-Tier but Leader of A. (Also you could not really argument why they S or am I missing something). Great Video ! Keep going!!

Mexico has Central America as a revolt, not Argentina. Their flags are similar because all central american countries (except for Costa Rica) inspired their flags with the Argentinian flag because the power that nation had back then.

Sweden is overall a slow and map dependent civ and lost their best raiding unit in the last patch. Playing the Swedes feels like an uphill struggle most of the time and putting them even in B tier is too optimistic.

Also Italians clear S tier right now, they can do almost everything and do it extremely well.

I have a question, would team civ tier list look very different? I mean I'm playing only with my friend as we bought DE like 2 weeks ago. Don't know if there is a ranked system for duos but we'd like to stick to that :)

Ethopia is C teir. I've played hundreds of games as ethopia (maxed level). They were over nerfed by complainers who couldn't handle their one strength which was the rush. Now they are easily rushable by most civs espcially ottmans, russians etc. Their eco is terrible. They can't FF or FI like European civs. They are no answer to a turtle FI strat. Two outposts are enough to hold them off. Anyone who believes they are A teir hasn't used them and doesn't know what their talking about.

I can say that at the lower levels a LOT of spain players show up in ranked. Usually when you see a lot of people playing a civ it means it is overpowered. Personally I never want to play any civ I consider OP, because I consider it cheating. I want to win because of how I played, not because I picked an OP civ. However the civ I am most scared of is Japan. They have always been incredibly OP, unless the Japan player never heard of 'shrine boom', which they all have. Having mini factories in Age I and uber units, I mean WTF?

Malta in my opinion is C Tier. I tried them a lot but they are just worse than the other civs and I rarely play against them.

Otto had huge nerf, otto.lost covered wagon.otto 4tc boom gone, otto revolt gone. Otto Age 3 eco gone. Otto should be in D tier.Germany Is no way a tier. Germans strength is raiding, now raiding is useless or ineffective Against some civs and in some maps.

Check "Mayorcete gaming" channel to answer the question "Why Spain S Tier?".
The guy just turtles with his FF until min 12-16 and then crushes EVERY civ and strat with pure shipments and Soldado, even at world rank 200-300. The unit spam of Spain reaching Age III and IV from shipments is ridículous and even if its the only viable Spain has, you can do it EVERY game and get away with it, and that is what shouldn't be possible for a civ to be balanced.
