That basin wouldnt be as bad as most though so long as your area rains a normal amount. I mean you still wouldnt want to drink from it or anything but your more likely to get sick from leftover chemical waste than a brain eating ameoba.

Swruously though, urban explorers beed to stop splashing that water around, it doesnt take very much getting in your eyes, nose, ears or mouth to get sick and then theres whatever gets on your clothes or body that you may recontminate yourself with later.

Theres also mold, by the time you see it, its already too late and youve inhaled a decent amount of spores. That doesnt always mean death or illness but its generally not great.

Im not even gonna get into gasses because thats a whole other issue. If youre gonna do urban exploration, do it with the right gear, a change of clothes for when you get out, shower when you get home and change again, make sure people know what youre doing and where, doesnt need to be your parents but somebody needs to know in case you arent heard from. Theres nothing wrong with a bit of exploration and adventure but theres also no reason to hurt yourself if you can prevent it with 5 minutes of prep.

i go to an abandoned factory every day, there is a working tap there, and the water that flows out of there and fills a spot lower than it, its literally fcking still. It has a lot of stuff in it, trash, dead plants and other stuff.
