Countries rode the wave of technological progress, and the technocrats used many ponzi schemes (such as migration, living beyond a country's means, etc), the fruits of which are now being experienced.

What has always puzzled me about George Friedman is that he often hit hard at the notion of "nationalism", but at the same time he promoted it. The first part of his speech does the former, while the second part of his speech does the latter.

I really enjoy Mr. Freeman's views and his very true look at our world our country and as a second generation German how and where the europeans totally lost sight of the control of the world my grandfather told me most of this when I was a young boy, it's amazing how much of this stuff I already knew! Powerful speech form a man well versed in history, political theory, and technology. One thing he left unsaid but plainly inferred was the past seventy years of prosperity was subsidized and created by the United States and that China's introduction into the WTO spoiled the situation.

You are a very smart and intelligent man but your understanding and abilities come from man which causes you to believe what you believe and teach .
