So last October I went on a mission trip to India to speak at a conference. There were about 800 people that came, mostly Christians, and some Hindus, and yet others that were kind of halfway and still clung to the Indian gods. Well, the first night we were called up to pray for people and I’m surrounded by a sea of about 90 Indians all asking for prayer. Not one of them spoke English and I don’t speak Hindu. I started praying for people, just asking the Holy Spirit to guide my words. At one point a couple volunteers asked me to pray for this woman who was seated. Before I spoke to her or touched her she fell on the ground and started screaming and shaking. It was immediately obvious this was some sort of demonic thing because the pastor’s wife said she had previously been in witchcraft. I prayed for her for about 3 minutes and commanded the evil spirit to come out and it did. Nothing crazy dramatic, she just relaxed and sat back up with tears steaming down her face. First time I have ever encountered anything like that. 5 minutes later I was called by volunteers to pray for another woman. She was visibly weaving back and forth and so I just put my hand on her head and started praying. All of a sudden she bends over and starts puking on the ground. Then she jumps up and starts this super creepy cackling laugh. To be honest when that happened the only thing I can describe is that a righteous anger came over me in seeing a woman so tormented. My pastor joined me in praying for her and after a couple minutes she stopped and relaxed too. We left the conference a few minutes later to go back to the hotel. The local pastor texted me a couple days later and confirmed that the woman has had no such issues even to this day 1/31/2023, and her whole family is a believing/ church attending family. Total freedom. I grew up Presbyterian and the concept of casting out demons is so foreign to my upbringing but in Jesus’ name we have that authority. I do not believe that diving into mythology and demonology is a good thing. Just cast them out and be done with it. They are all associated with idols and idol worship. Just be done with it. In Jesus’ name.

When i visited a Nigerian Church we were praying against marine spirits, and it was my first time hearing about that. But it made sense that people worshiped mermaids/merman since in Lagos there were many huts/homes right by the water so a lot of their livelihood comes from the water.

In Philadelphia, during the summer, there’s a mermaid day where people come out and celebrate mermaids. I wish people did more research before doing things. But, then again I wouldn’t have known unless I went to Nigeria.

I do hope that you will personally experience them, not for your torment but for your education. Because they are real in Asia... Your lack of experience in your country does not cancel nor nullify what others are constantly going through especially in 3rd and 4th world countries

i completely understand your presentation and explanation. However, I've come to realize that there are many things that the Bible doesnt clearly lay out for us in detail. It takes God himself to reveal those things to us. I believe that there are many spiritual things that we know nothing about. God's creation is vast in scale, not all of it is detailed in The Word. It wouldnt be possible for us to put all of it in a book. This is one of the reasons why we need His Holy Spirit to guide us always.

I want to share my testimony about being delivered from a Marine Spirit, because I want people to understand that they are real and exist. But first and foremost I want to give glory to God and Jesus for delivering me He has every dominion over Satan. I was not with a pastor or in a church setting. It was just me the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirt. He had to show me that in my ancestral background my family had been involved in witchcraft and they worshiped and were in covenant with Satan in this way.

There are different types of demons in Satan's kingdom, and different hierarchies. In the same way there are different angels in God's kingdom and they have different purposes.

In the Bible it speaks about how Jesus cast the demons of legion into the pigs. In this same way this is how we are delivered from demons.

Ephesians 6:12 tells us that there is not one kind of demon, but rather various different kinds. Therefore, marine spirits do exist. The Bible may not explicitly mention them, but it does describe the various kinds of evil spirits:

So… I think all we know for sure is that the Bible doesn’t speak directly about them. In the Western world, it can be easy to dismiss, but in other nations, they believe in them strongly, such as the African man below. I know some who believe in them who have experienced strong manifestations of spiritual warfare. I can’t rule them out. However, despite that, I don’t think our focus should be on them, but rather on turning to Christ and His Word and power. If they are real, then we need Christ just as much as if they weren’t.
