A New Way Huge Pedal Debut! (Weird Atreides Content)

I’m really jazzed, because this week I get to help Jeorge Tripps debut a brand new pedal: the Atreides Analog Weirding Module. Jeorge is the creator of Way Huge Pedals and one of the most brilliant pedal makers on the scene today. Did I have anything to do with this pedal’s conception? It's design? Its sound? Nope. But I love it, so I’m going to gush about it anyway.

Great pedal. It sounds awesome. I like the lights on the sliders. I want one but as a Dune fan, I have to make one correction to what Jeorge says: the weirding module is only in the movie from the 80's. In the book, it's the Weirding Way, which is basically a form of martial arts that allows the human body to channel superhuman abilities like super speed.

To get nerdy, the weirding module was not in the book. it was created for the David Lynch movie. God knows why.

My favorite Bjork record is Homogenic. I honestly didn't get it at all until I saw a documentary about the making of the record. Then, I started to understand that electronic music can still have the human element. She is one of my absolute favorites now.

The book is way better.

The problem with what he said is that the weirding module is only in Lynch's film adaptation of the book. Apparently Lynch wanted the film to have a more technological feel to it and replaced "the weirding way, " a style of hand to hand combat, with the "weirding module."

Doesn't matter in the slightest to me though. The creator of this pedal had me at "blue box" (nice subtle reference to the completely blue eyes of a spice addict in Dune), then took it and created a device that allows my tone to transcend time and space.

GAS is the wallet-killer.
