On day four of our cross-country road trip, we experienced totality during the Great Solar Eclipse of 2024! We visit Grapevine, Texas, explore the Meow Wolf - The Real Unreal exhibit, enjoy a bit of their eclipse watch party, and then retreat to our peaceful hotel pool, where the clouds miraculously part, despite all the weather reports saying the cloud cover would be too thick, and we enjoy a gorgeous, perfect, clear sky for the FULL TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, with full view of the ring of fire, totality, and partial eclipse before and after! The day turns to night as the sky grows dark, and we marvel at one of the coolest things we've ever experienced during this celestial event. We're so happy to be able to share this experience with you, our full day in Grapevine, Texas, and our first time seeing a full solar eclipse with totality! Thank you for the love and support on the road trip series, stay tuned as the vlogs continue as we drive westward across the USA!

I am so glad I found this video. I stayed at the same hotel and watched the eclipse from the front of the hotel along with most of the hotel staff! I could see the pool and may have seen you watching!. As an astronomy enthusiast I planned on seeing this eclipse my whole life, and was really concerned about the cloud cover. But, when the sky cleared a few minutes before totality and stayed clear through totality I was very happy! There were mini eclipses on the ground shining through the leaves of the trees, and yes, the birds flew to the top of the trees and decided to take a nap. The street lights came on. It was surreal. The "star" to the right of the sun was Venus, and to the left Jupiter. Viewing these planets added to the experience. Then, after the eclipse, on the ride back to the airport, the skies really cleared! So, we were very lucky to get the clearing just before and after totality!

So happy that you got to experience Totality. I saw it in 2017 and it’s life changing. It made me feel insignificantly small in such an amazing universe. Nothing will ever come close to experiencing that again 🌑

Im in the UK and I was telling my boys about the total eclipse that happened in 1999. Distinctly remember it going dark and cold and the birds fell silent. What a great experience you two had! So glad it was well worth it 😊

Welcome to Texas! I'm in Dallas right next to Grapevine and I had to work, but I still got to see it outside my downtown office! So glad you came this way to experience it! You'll have to come back our way when the Universal resort opens in Frisco!

Literal goosebumps! I watched our measly 47% from Broward, but watching an eclipse from the path of totality is bucket list for sure! Thanks for sharing this Jackie. And the next American total eclipse will have a lot of Florida in the path!

Great job! Way better than the annoying TV coverage I watched.

What’s really cool is that you can see the eclipse very well in the lens flares even when you can’t see it through the clouds. Refraction is crazy.

What an epic video. Loved both of your enthusiasm, it came across so well and you got some amazing shots for those of us that never got to watch the eclipse at all.

Everyone needs to experience a total solar eclipse, it was so amazing seeing it in Round Rock for my sons 10th birthday and watching this brings back all the excitement we felt watching the eclipse 🥰

Was so cool to experience this again through another person's viewpoint. We were able to experience as a family here in Indiana. My wife was like Sam, not understanding what Totality would be like. We were in Awe of God's creation. Amazing!!

At 25:15 in the background you can literally see the Moon’s shadow rushing at them.

I watched this from Ohio and it was every bit as spectacular as advertised. I’m glad you got to see it too!!!

I am glad that you two made the trip for this wonderful experience. One of my friends and her husband came so they could have a chance to see people here but, also for the Eclipse. Our own personal moment with it was very peacefully spiritual and I ended up honoring it with our dog and cat who responded to it strange ways.

We drove from VA to Erie, PA to be in the path of totality. It ended up being totally cloudy there, so we drove south to OH. We actually stopped at a rest area on the highway (along with a bunch of other people) and had a wonderful view. It was definitely worth the drive. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. We had almost 4 minutes of totality where we were. My daughter is already planning our trip to Orlando in 20 years to see another one! You should do a Super Enthused meet up for that one.

Oh, and I also wanted to thank you for making other content. Other than the amusement parks America has so much more to see, and I’m so happy that you are sharing the other parts with us.
