In this project scientists aim at understanding the neuronal circuits involved in long-term memory storage. Two fluorescent retrograde tracers were injected in two areas of the mouse brain that are known to be implicated in memory formation. In this 20μm thick brain slice, neurons were visualized that send projections to these areas, in red to the prelimbic cortex, and in blue to the entorhinal cortex. Researchers now study how these inputs are modulated during memory formation and retrieval.

Lucie Dixsaut is a PhD student in the Gräff lab of Neuroepigenetics where she investigates how neuronal networks in the mouse brain are changing as a memory ages.
