David is on the verge of admitting his gear use. He keeps dropping hints, but there must be a reason he's not saying it outright. He's a smart guy and he knows a lot of kids will jump on gear as well, when they hear they could look like him

I can’t really be mad at David. He seems like a pretty good dude. He doesn’t really lie to our faces saying he’s natural. I think he doesn’t address anything because of the “gymshark contract”.

I never comment on YouTube videos but this resonated with me so deeply.. after keeping single digit body fat for over a year thinking this was healthy I got my bloods done after having no motivation, not sleeping, barely eating felt like utter dog sh.. had high prolactin due to the stress on my body.

After eating more for even just 2 weeks and putting on weight, as well as getting stronger and having way more energy.. I haven't been this happy for YEARS.

This is probably the best video that greg has posted. What a great message he gives, delivering it very clearly for everyone to understand!

I absolutely understand this. When I was in my mid 20s I was around 160 between 10-13%bf and I’m only 5’5. Then I cut back on working out and then the pandemic I didn’t work out at all. I’m 33 now and I’ve been back in the gym 6 days a week and the last 9 weeks I’ve been cutting. Honestly people tell me I look incredible all the time. I have really big arms for my size. A guy stopped me at the gym just to ask me what my rear delt routine is. Yet it’s close to summer in Texas and I still find myself wearing hoodies multiple days a week because some days if I don’t sleep enough or didn’t work out I’ll feel flat. Even though I’m in better shape than 90% of people I still hide under baggy clothes because I’m not satisfied.

I am so thankful to Coach that I am happy with my body now.

It's not shredded, but leaner, stronger, better butter burner, and most importantly - not hungry and not guilty with what I eat.

You have no idea how much I appreciate what you said in the last 5 minutes of your video. Thanks Coach Greg!

I think confidence is taught at a young age so it can be carried within. Before the gym I thought I was hot stuff and now I think I am idc who disagrees. My goal isn’t to look better it’s just to look my best as long as I can. Only person I’ve ever compared myself to has been my dad.

For me I am happy with my body the way it is right now, but at the same time I love it even more every time I improve.

As someone who wrestled In highschool, Greg is right. Ever since I started a fitness account and wrestling I have struggled with severe body dysmorphia

Great to see David laid have self awareness in regards to the dysmorphia: that it stems from certain insecurities that are contextually unique to each individual, but collectively-it’s based on insecurity.

Eating disorders are a behavioural conditioning where one trains oneself to either under-eat, or over eat. This is how one lets the insecurities control their lives rather than one controlling those insecurities, mastering them.

Indeed, I may add, if I may, that these insecurities are based on physical and social insecurities. Here it is why it may be advisable for those that are brave, to really self reflect deeply about what those insecurities really are, it is the power of understanding one’s irreducible weaknesses that fitness will not reduce.

What one CAN do, Is understand one’s own unique insecurities! Why so? Because then no one will be able to manipulate you by targeting those insecurities.

Yes, fitness influencesr especially, must do this, in order that they do not need to live up to the praise of social media, why do I state this?

Simple, because praise and admiration, also equally implies envy, and slander.

I am not saying however, to abandon social media, not at all!

The conclusion I am conveying, is this: influencing on social media with a physic must be done willingly and under one’s full control! To use their physics as a purpose or means for a bigger aim!

The influencers make the error of letting society’s masses control and will their physics. Influencers like coach Greg, understand this, and it’s why he’s emphasizing to find contentment with getting half way to one’s dream physic. Coach Greg is unconsciously aware (perhaps consciously aware too) that social media puppets influencers by targeting their insecurities. This occurs when the influencer does not understand their root, irreducible insecurities, and has no control over the insecurities; thus, allowing the masses to find the insecurities, and seize control over the influencers insecurities… there is a concept in social psychology called
encers insecurities… there is a concept in social psychology called self-discrepancy theory: where one can experience certain conflicts with the ideals of one’s self and others, the ought expectation to live up to a standard, and real self which is what one is becoming in reality.

The common discrepancy in the fitness industry is the ideal self conflicting with the real self. Resulting in dejection, disappointment and frustration. The ideals of life are never meant to be reached, but are signs of our road to becoming who we are, do not get obsessed about the signs of becoming, is the philosophical interpretation of the self discrepancy theory.

"dont develop body dysmporphia", its like saying dont be sad, dont get depressed, its out of our control, something bothers us and it ticks us every single day, we cant just ignore it
