Exploring Bald Eagle State Forest for the First Time

Показать описание
Bald Eagle State Forest is an area I have wanted to explore for a long time now. This area, surrounded by Rothrock and Tiadaghton, is one of, if not the largest public land reservations in Pennsylvania. It's safe to say that on this trip, I only scratched the surface of what is here to see and enjoy.

Using my Purple Lizard Map, I turn off the highway immediately onto some gravel roads before finding my way to a very fun little "high clearance 4x4 road". A beautiful day and a fantastic little adventure--next time I will be sure to plan a longer stay!

Several years ago my buddy and I rode through that area on our ADV bikes. I wish I knew about those trails at the time.

Well, you reviewed and explored one of my favorite 4x4 stomping grounds; Your editing is flawless and I do hope you make it back there sometime soon! I love Strong Mountain Road, from start to finish; But you've gained a subscriber!

I'd love to see "Trail Reviews" of this park and all parks!

Very cool video. PA has some of the finest forests in the eastern US. If anyone asks you how far into the forests you go tell them; "I've been to where the Devil bid the Owl, Goodnight"!

Hey dude...nice vid...love your use of the drone. I live 30 mins outside of Philly, but we have property in Kishacoquillas Valley, which is about 30 mins from Centre Hall. I'm just getting into off-roading, so I'm on the hunt for good trails. But if you want a great camping/picnic/hiking spot, check out the Alan Seeger Natural Area. At the intersection of Stone Creek Rd and Seeger Rd there is an absolutely gorgeous creekside area. The drive in is not technical at all (although I don't know how well it's kept up in winter), but very peaceful and scenic.

Ok, now that I've been there this past weekend (just posted the Day 1 video today) and we camped at Site 48 near that Sand Mountain area, I can say that this Sand Mountain / Little Poe area is just the tip of the iceberg. Overall it's just an incredible forest. Sharpback Hollow, Henstep, and Longwell Draft are all trails you should make sure you hit next time if you have a few days. Henstep is a beast, but a blast!

Good Video. I live in the Shamokin area and have never been to Bald Eagle. But somehow or other, i do believe i will eventually get there.

Wow. Absolutely amazing video and editing. I just went last week to besf and did some very mild trails in my jlu. By the way, do you happen to have the coordinates for the water crossing around the 2:22 mark? Please and thanks

Ya when they say Pennsyltucky its not a term of endearment but I get what you're saying. I'll be getting one of those maps and exploring asap. Been looking to get off road in the Harrisburg area.

Awesome man! By any chance, do you have the trails recorded on Gaia GPS? Would love to check them out.

Are we allowed to camp anywhere we find a spot in Bald Eagle State Forest?
