Conspiracy theory about Danaher and the high wrist in mma- this specific guillotine was meme fighter Cody Mackenzie’s only move but it was so effective that he got into the UFC with just this submission. On the season of TUF where Cody is on team GSP, GSP brought in Danaher to be the team jiu jitsu coach, and DDS would later iconically use this specific guillotine in competition. I’ve had a hard time tracking the lineage of the high wrist gilly because I know other people like Nate Diaz have used it since forever so I can’t verify that this is true, but I like to imagine that Danaher picked up this dim mak strangle from an Alaskan fish canner who once wore a literal pair of basketball shorts from Target (with the price tag still on) into the UFC octagon

I never really knew how to do the high wrist. This is great. It looks like it’s a high wrist arm in guillotine but does that matter? Meaning arm in or not? Also wonder why you do not have to throw the leg over his back to avoid him hoping to the other side. Is that bc body positioning makes it not matter? Again great stuff and thanks 🤙🤙

It’s not the same as the Mckenzietine, I used to do this at my local gym in the late 90s because I just always focused how to smash the Carotid arteries and that was a good way to do it without the gi.
