Thanks for this video, Hayford. I am definitely looking into Nigeria at the moment. I also love that she emphasises not glorifying one land over the other. None are perfect, but both (Europe and Africa) have some valuable things to offer. Great conversation. :)

After 21 years I left the UK and moved back to Nigeria. I have never had peace of mind like this before even with the "situation" of the country. No matter what there is absolutely no where like home. Best decision ever!

In this age of remote work, there are great possibilities in terms of mobility. I have a friend who relocated to Lagos from the US. She works out of Lagos for a foreign company.

I think once the government becomes a lot more responsible and effective and starts doing the right things in terms of strengthening the legal environment, enhancing service delivery, and investing in infrastructure, many Nigerians in the diaspora would be willing to return home. There are great treasures in Nigeria. The possibilities are endless.

May God bless you, Omolara. God bless you the interviewer as well. We need to let people know that lions aren’t swallowing people in Africa and that they will just be fine visiting or even returning home.
I was so angry with a Nigerian lady in Canada trying to promote retirement in Canada in which case some people were boasting that they can’t adjust yo life in Africa because they have lived overseas for a decade or two. I found it as empty boastings because we have people like Ebi-Abodedele, Bayo Adio, this lady and many others who were born and raised overseas and fit very well into Africa lifestyles upon returning home.

Yes the UK is hard but if you understand the system you thrive, she done well in Nigeria because most Africans are colourist, it’s really that simple.

Beautiful & well articulated interview, aside the exhange rate error (#3mill = $1800, not $25k). Keep spreading the awareness and breaking down anti Nigeria/African stereotypes.

Also planning to move back, been in the UK for 20 years and it’s just not for me. Been to 5 countries in africa, it’s amazing - I honestly can’t wait. I feel sorry for all the Africans living in the west.
