I have this feeling that going to a live show after all this is going to feel kinda like going to a concert for the first time.

My band Saving Darkness has first gig in a year and a half next week! We did finish our second album and start our third, really excited to do what us musicians were made to do again!!

Crazy coincidence. Worked a temp job last December and bought the 100w katana combo, foot switch and just recently my dad bought me a vintera 60s Stratocaster as a gift for me quitting smoking. Bring on the gigs

Many thumbs up to Chapman for continuing to support the smaller YouTubers. Just have to have a lil browse around YouTube to see the love in the guitar community

Love it when Rob's having so much fun noodling while simultaneously guiding us all back to the live on-stage world where we really love to be. Cheers, sideman

Nice video.
It’s great that you explained about how most small venues nowadays have decent PA systems and mic everything, so having a 100w amp is more because it’s just nice to have rather than essential. So many “gigging rig” videos on YouTube tell young players they have to have a big rig to play pubs with, so as to be heard. Really good, honest advice here.

I work as a lighting tech on large scale shows and events (outside of lockdown) and the amount of empty Marshall cabinets the backline crew load in every day just for ‘eye candy’ is amazing. I’ve even had to put fairy lights in the fake heads before, just so it looks like the valves are glowing! So many pro bands now use modelling stuff tucked away behind the walls of speakers. It’s good to see you championing it.

Awesome to see Chappers back in action and making guitar videos again; brings me back to being a teen where I’d watch hours of this stuff

Don't know what a estate car is but here in America, Back in the 90's. i used to roadie for my former friends local metal band, and we had to fit 1 peavey VTM 120 Guitar head, 1 Crate GS150 1x12 combo with 12' Electrovoice Speaker, and depending at the time between 1990-1994 either 2 Carvin 4x12 speaker cabinets, 1 Carvin 4x12 and 1 Laney 4x12 speaker cabinet or 1 Carvin 4x12, 1 Peavey VTM 4x12 Speaker Cabinet, With drums consisting of 1 bass drum, 2 toms which where Tama Brand Drums, hi hats, 3 cymbal stands and cymbals, drum seat, And a Peavey Combo 1x15 bass amp, Don't remember the name of it, it's been along time the drums, bass amp and guitars were in the trunk of a old i believe it was a 78 Oldsmobile Maroon Cutlass supreme 2 door car. for quite a few gigs. until started using my parents, mercury station wagon, old chevy pickup with no power steering, I believe another vehicle as well. but i can not remember what it was but those were in 93/94 right before i had a falling out with those former friends and i quite being their unpaid roadie which i was their producer as well because they would bounce ideas for original songs and i would suggest double track this part, add a blues solo here, downtune this song, etc. But we had a falling out and went our separate ways. they broke up in 96 do to my former best friend and the rhythm and lead vocals of the band had a injury at work which got his 3 fingers of his picking hand cut off in those machines that cut rubber mats. i wont go into detail what happened there but the band broke up but that was way after i quite and had no more to do with them. So how big is an estate car. Go google Oldsmobile 78 Cutlass Supreme 2 door to see if it is as big or smaller than your Estate car.

I grinned at my plague pedal collection. Only the fuzz face smiled back.

Until I got a car accident, this is what I could fit in my Hyundai i20:
• Me & my bandmate (epic 2-men band) ;
• A whole drum set (22x18" & 2 toms, snare, drum throne, hardware and cymbals) ;
• Two guitars & a pedalboard ;
• A Victory 2x12" with a small Mesa Mark 25 head ;
• A Trace Elliot 2x10" with a matching Trace Elliot AH600-12 head.

I have tremendous memories from driving around with him & all of that stuff!!

By the way, the band is called Let It Kill You and no, we don't really play jazz or pop as you may have guessed!!!

Make your own pedal train from wood and buy some 3m duel lock. Works great

You know what? Lockdown has been easier by sitting with a beer at the weekend, and listening to Rob noodle. You really are one of my biggest influences, and I’ve played for 25 years! I’ve been trying to talk myself out of getting a Chapman guitar as I’ve no room. But they’re so versatile that I don’t think I can afford not to have one. I’m thinking the ML3 Storm Burst. Love that guitar!

Origin 50c going for £499 clearance at Andertons, small cheap pedalboard (tuner, SD-1, tc electronic prophet delay and skysurfer reverb put it on a duck board) and a Pacifica 311h, if you already have a board built go with the chapman hybrid and the amp get a good strap (and strap locks) and a good gig bag or case.

I personally rock a home built clapton strat partscaster through a slo100 modified jet city 50c. Does the clean thing bluesy thing pretty well, and does 80’s clapton incredibly well. I also run my 335 through it and it’s a great rock/blues rig for that too
