Mithun Chakraborty is an extremely talented actor and has received three national awards. And, surprisingly, he also was a superstar in commercial cinema. Those who have followed Bollywood in the 80s/early 90s would know how popular he was amongst ordinary people, even more than Amitabh Bachhan. At the top of it, his success came with small-time producers and directors, as prominent directors wouldn’t consider him for roles due to the politics of B'wood played by some well-known actors in commercial cinema at the time.
