In my experience the best way to use a wire saw is to ball it up as tight as possible and throw it in the lake. The deeper the better. After that go buy a folding saw of any size or quality because it's going to cut wood without you having to destroy your shoulders.

Every time I’m in the woods near mine, I always feel at peace and a great sense of calm and feeling like an animal at the same time. Nature brings the wild out of us and allows us to relax as well as test ourselves as a human. Your teachings will be very helpful and appreciated next time I go down that valley. I hope my food doesn’t get stollen by a Fox again during the night. 😂❤

good knowledge there, I would be glad to hear tips about facing the cold, as it's quite a common fight when sleeping outdoor. it's usual to travel lightly too and it happens oftenly to be caught in an unexpected cold situation

Great video! Watching this with my hunting dog beside me…he’s been eyeing the trees for squirrel, after your coin call.

The ridges on the outside of the coins are called milling, its from back when coins were worth money. It was to try and stop coin clipping

Is that a garmin fenix watch? Would you mind doing a video on tips and tricks you use for hiking and maps and bushcraft?

The "squirrel call" using the edge of two coins is intended to sound like a squirrel scraping on a nut. At least that's the way we've always used it. It doesn't sound like any squirrel vocalization I've ever heard.

Pretty good! I'd throw some leaves down as bedding in that shelter too. Helps keep you from losing body heat to the ground.

Bic lighter might be better option vs firesteel to have in the mini survival tin. Using the fire steel means having to gather some kind of tinder able to catch the spark. Lighter will be way easier to use in any situation whatsoever but especially in dire straits. Matter of taste, of course, as always. Keep up the good work.

My experience with a dried leaf shelter cover is that it is fine for insulation and blocking wind in fair weather. It takes a lot of leaves to absorb a persistent rain.

Snares are illegal in Wales and Scotland, because of the danger to wildlife and pets. If you practice your snare skills in preparation, please be sure to take them down again. I appreciate keeping the knowledge alive and providing it for those who may need it, but if you're not starving please don't use a snare to kill, it is not a pleasant or humane to die strangling on a wire loop.
This is not a criticism towards the channel, which I love! But please be careful, a snare can as easily catch someone's pet as dinner.
