My BIGGEST Mistake I've Made as a Contractor

This is easily the BIGGEST Mistake I've made as a contractor...and of course it had to be on my own project. I have done some dumb things before when looking back, but I have no clue how I looked past the potential issue of pre blowing all my insulation into my attic prior to my ceiling install or without more proper bracing.

How many people knew this was going to be an issue when watching the last video? Live and Learn! I hope this mistake helps someone else.

Years ago we used the wrong thin set mortar on a 2000 sq ft tile job. We noticed a couple tiles come loose and realized our mistake. We then pulled up every tile (even though some were laid with the correct mortar) and sanded the subfloor, bought all new tile and started over. The homeowner was so impressed at how we admitted our mistake and took care of it . That homeowner became our biggest referrer of jobs because he told everyone how we didn’t try to blame it on anything and took care of it .

What I get from this video is a good example of a craftsman, a good example of fixing a mistake, a good example of learning from mistakes and teaching others not to make them, and a good example of a family rallying around the one that needs the help that day.

Kyle we really like the innovative material that you use in your videos. Have you ever tried or used ECOCELL Batt and Blanket Insulation from Nu-wool in Michigan it’s a cellulose material. We never heard of timber fill insulation until now but might need to consider it.
