Bixpy Jet on my Hobie PA & CATCHING FISH in Tampa Bay, Florida

In this video I go through the set up & installation process of the Bixpy Outboard Kit. Not only was it an easy instal, but it was a great tool on the water. I caught a few reds early in the morning on topwater, missed a few snook and landed one, and played with some schools of jacks and sheepshead. Hey bro, awsome vessel. You're 100% on the motors. This is my 1st season in my new and 1st kayak. I purchased a HOODOO SPORTS 120 PDL/HYBRID. So it takes my PDL drive and the 46lb thrust trolling motor fits, where my pedals sit. The motor amazed me weight is 19lbs. Still have allot of accessories to install, that I purchased while I waited 6 months for my kayak. This sport has come so far. I love my boat, and would take it over a bass boat or flats boat anyday! I store my PDL DRIVE in my hull, incase of any electrical problems. But I am definitely looking into the either the bixpy dropdown rudder kit, or the Torqueedo 403. Im trying to decide if I want to rig up my peddle drive kayak with a Bixpy, buy the 133x and use the ulterra trolling motor and electronics off my big boat or buy the Old town 136?

Is there any way to trim some of that down to get a shallower draft? I'm pretty interested in these, I don't see why it has to stick down so low. I've thought about getting one and trimming the conduit pipe down to get another 6" shallower. I like the option of not having to install anything and being able to switch out the motor quickly or leave it stowed away. Thanks for the video.

where did u keep the mirage drive while using the bixpy ? and was it a hassle or not really switch it bk and forth ? nice vid ! I hv an outback and been checking out the bixpy... looks promising. :D

Gr8 vid! Wish they made that drop in for my Old Town Predator PDL... would make it much easier to get to spots that are usually 1-2 miles away, especially as my joints give way to peddling & paddling. Man people can hate on motor powered kayaks all they want but I would say most of those people probably don't fish out of their kayak for one and also with so many kayaks having pedal drives it's the logical next step. I've been wanting to get a Bixpy Jet system for my kayak for a while now. I don't have a pedal kayak though so my install will be quite a bit different. I'll have to get the universal kayak & canoe mount for my kayak. I haven't decided on weather to get a hand steering system or pedal steering. I'd like the pedal steering system so I can troll without having to worry about steering with my hand but it seems like it could be a bit akward using the pedals. How do you steer your Hobie? Do you like the steering system it uses?
