Thank you, Mr. Cox, for not burying your head in the sand like other celebrities and speaking out against this genocide.👏

Thank you Brian Cox. I will buy that white cloth and fly it so that a child somewhere may see an angel. We all need to do that. As his fellow poet Auden, wrote in Sept 1, 1939: "we must love one another or die."

Very sad humanity has reached this stage of brutality, but very heart warming that many heroes are standing up to voice their protests.

So beautiful. Hard to hear without getting teary-eyed, considering the death toll in Palestine. A brave soul. We send Light to all there, and all who have transitioned at this time.
Thank you, Mr Cox. Once again you breathe the perfect amount of presence into powerful verse. 🙏

I saw Brian in an upstairs theater in a London pub in the 90s in St Nicolas and it’s still some of the best theater I’ve ever seen. I love him even more now for this. Thank you Brian.

Thank you, Mr Cox, for that beautiful recitation of the poem by the late Refaat Alareer.
It is indeed a vibrant tribute that your moving voice pays to the victims of human horror that we thought belonged to the past.

This brought tears to my eyes. I’ve read the poem but poetry is also supposed to be read out loud and heard. What times we live in.

This poem gets me every time

Gazans don't want to be forgotten .
They want to at least be a legend for all to remember.
The martyrdom of Gaza will be remembered, it will become a legend, and it's people the heroes of our time.

In 1000 years, the world will forget Israel, but Gaza will be etched in to the minds of humanity, and etched in to history.

Refaat, a true educator, an extraordinary poet, a loving father and husband, a trustworthy reliable friend, a keeper of the land.
A beautiful soul, killed by someone who haven't yet understood the magnitude of his unforgivable sin, who can't even understand his own past.
Refaat inspired and will continue to Inspire millions upon millions, not to hate or deceive, but to disintegrate and transcend all hatred and deceit, borders and closed gates, distance itself.
His youngest daughter, "Amal" 7 years old, her name chosen by Refaat's wife, means "Hope" in Arabic (أمل).
He saw the importance of teaching English to Gazans to strengthen their self expression skills, taught hundreds of poets, writers, novelists and journalists.
Refaat recognized how much similar the situation is between Jews before WWII and Palestinians today. He taught constantly about antisemitism and how it destroyed Europe.
I loved his poems "I am you" and "If I must die" and currently reading a lot of his articles and watching his lectures on YouTube.

Deepest condolences to his family, friends and students. may god give them patience and strength.
Hope and dedication are the key.
