An aeroplane, when flying at the height of 4000m from the ground, passes vertically above another aeroplane at an instant when the angles of elevation of two places from same point on the ground are 60° and 45°, respectively. Find the Vertical distance between the aeroplanes at that instant.

Sir, in notes provided by my teacher even in case of sample two formulas are given, one with just n in the denominator and the other with n-1 in the denominator.Please make it clear that is it a mistake or there are any cases where we apply same formula for both population and sample .
