Wonder Hanger Max Review: Does it Work?

Wonder Hanger Max is the updated version of Wonder Hanger, which supposedly saves space in your closet. Here I put some of the advertising claims to the test, and was surprised to find that it saved less space than I expected.

Admittedly, it's basically still the same amount of space. But, just not having to see all those hangers bunched up together up top gives me a sense of ease. I can't really explain it haha! And you're totally right about being a nice way to organize your clothes. I immediately put all my same type of shirts together once I started using them. BTW, mine are called Magic Hangers.

If you had a lot of Wonder Hangers squashed together, it seems like it would be too hard to get to your clothes.

We tried these years ago and if I'm remembering right, we didn't like them because it was too difficult to get to the clothes, the clothes hung too low, and the weight put too much strain on the rod.

I like the organizer ideal. If I go through the chore of hanging clothes I sure don't want them pressed together and becoming wrinkled. Defeats the purpose of hanging.

Let me tell u, I'm a PLUS size woman and I LOVE my Wonder Hangers . I easily can put 10 jeans ( size 18 ) and haven't had a problem . I put 2 fold jeans on a Joe Mangano hanger and put it on the Wonder Hangers and BAM I just love the space it gives. 4 me they work incredibly especially being a big girl. They do hold many weight.

It takes up more room than regular hangers because not only is it the same width because of how they all overlap but it also takes up more verticle space

I've had original wonder hangers for years with no trouble. The plastic hooks did weaken so I bought metal shower curtain hooks for stability and strength there. Never had any sagging. I hang dress shirts and slacks. I just received *off" brand I ordered from Walmart and definitely not up to standard. I put my slacks on the new ones and warped under the weight of just 3 slacks. I doubled them and that seems to help significantly. Same thing though. Replaced the plastic hooks with metal shower curtain hooks.

Bought it today to make space for our child on the way. Holy sh** amazing if USED the right way and combined with space saver hangers! We saved bunch of space in our closet with just one pack of 10. Love it

As a professional organizer, I do not recommend them for some of the same reasons you highlighted - I use the bottom of the closet to hold shoes or place a drawer system, so I do not want the clothes to hang longer. Also, it just moves the bulk lower instead of on the rod, but it is still there!

I had a version of this in the 90s. It was beefy, and never broke. But it took up more room than the same six hangers on the rod and more room than simply using soda can tabs to connect hangers. The one place where these sorts of hanger cascaders work is traveling by car.

What about the velvet covered hangers? They are supposed to cut closet space in half.

I personally find that it saves space for really thin shirts and it helps me group clothes together
