It’s been my experience that deep sea ships don’t monitor class b AIS. This may have changed since it’s been a few years but next time you’re passing a deep sea ship give them a call on the vhf and ask if they have you on AIS. I think you’ll find they are not taking avoiding action as you seem to think but perhaps I’m wrong.
