Animators: "how many negative stereotypes do you want in this show?"

Producers: "yes"

Esther Rolle is turning in her grave saying “damn, damn, daaammnn”. This is so disrespectful. We as a people have to put our foot down and boycott this trash!

This just gives me more appreciation for the Boondocks and how they made us laugh without making us the joke

If you’ve seen the movie, “Bamboozled”, this is exactly what they were talking about! An all black show, starring black people, going through, ”black” situations… written by people who aren’t black.

I'm actually stunned and appalled that Stephen Curry of all people is involved with this.

As a young black person who loves animation and watched the original show... This hurts.

As a black person who loves animation and wants to see new ideas come to life, this burns my eyes. Stereotypes can funny if written well but this take black twitter and make a cartoon.

This looks exactly like what John Amos feared the original was turning into.

This looks like something Uncle Ruckus would watch.

By reading the comments. Most of us or all of us agree that this isn't what we want.

This is the kind of entertainment they satirised on the boondocks.

Dear Black Celebs: It's ok to turn down certain work, especially if your dignity and integrity is at stake. This ain't it.

As a Mexican American who was born in 70’s and grew up watching Good Times this is absolutely insulting! The show was about your struggles in the inner city yet having pride and dignity regardless where you were from or social status. Hollywood loves to reenforce stereotypes.
