102-Year-Old WWII Veteran's Incredible Abseiling For Charity | Good Morning Britain

An RAF veteran is taking part in an age-defying fundraiser! 102-year-old Former Flight Lieutenant Colin Bell will abseil down the 17 storeys of the Royal London Hospital - the highest elevated helipad in Europe - on September 14 - to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, The London Air Ambulance and the RCN. Colin says “I may be 102 years old but I want to do my bit and raise money for these amazing charities. I’m glad to be doing something that can help – quite frankly at my age, I’m glad to be doing anything!” Asked what is the secret of staying fit and healthy and reaching the age of 102, Colin says: "It's a mixture of exercise and alcohol with the love of a good woman and a few bad ones thrown in for good measure!”

His challenge comes as the country commemorates the Battle of Britain Day - when Fighter Command shoots down 56 German aircraft.

During WW2 Colin carried out 50 bombing raids over Germany, including 13 over Berlin.
