1952 Dodge Barn Find First Start - Will it RUN AND DRIVE?

preview_player
Показать описание
This 1952 Dodge Meadowbrook was a true abandoned barn find in Iowa. We try a first start in many years! It's a unknown how long the vehicle has been off the road since it has classic plates and isn't tagged currently. The Dodge has a straight 6 with a unique fluid drive transmission. Bad ignition, and head gasket. Fuel leak? Perfect! Watch this classic car fire back to life!

Man you are absolutely hilarious, I enjoyed every minute of your sense of humor. Hope to see you fully restore this vehicle. Good luck I'll be watching.

I took the day off of work to clean the house done right up for the wife's birthday, yet I'm on hour 2 of VGG videos and have started my second pot of coffee. Happy birthday Liz.

Had to stop and watch this, I've got a '51 Dodge, same color! Grew up with these, learned how to drive on one, and I'm still driving one!

This guy is one hell of a mechanic. I have been watching these videos and for him to take vehicles that have sat for so long and get them running without changing everything is amazing.

Reverse is towards you and up. 1st gear is forward and up all the way. If it's a gyro-matic then all you need to do is get up to 10-15 MPH then let off the gas and wait for a few years and the car should shift into 2nd. At 25 MPH depress the clutch and pull the stick all the way to the floor and your in 3rd. Once you get to a stop just depress the clutch and the car should go into 2nd ( if the force is strong with you). If your stopped on a hill then try to find 1st again. Good luck and enjoy that classic Detroit steel.

My first car was a 1964 valiant w/a slant 6 three on the tree. The gear shifts are, pull towards you and up is reverse, stay pulled toward you and down is 1st. Push away from you and up is 2nd, and away from you and down is 3rd. I enjoy watching the old cars that bring memories of cars I and other family members had and see them run again. I'm retired after 38 years of spinning wrenches and wish I could find these old tins around here where even glass rusts on the east coast of Canada. I imagine you wish for a hoist on times when you have to do the horizontal wiggle.

Ah, you got me motivated! I have the same vehicle sitting in my yard. 1950 Dodge with the fluid drive which I haven't touched since I bought it. Now I look forward to checking mine out! Thanks buddy. Love your videos!

Derek, I 'm totally amazed you are featuring a 1952 Dodge Meadowbrook. This is the exact car my Mom had when I was growing up. First car I ever turned a wrench on! Thanks for return down memory lane!
