while making the formula we use the sign convention and put u as -u. But when we attempt numerical, we again put u as -u. Why is it so?

1:12 there is no bending of light..still it is considered refraction because light travelled from one medium to the other..

I have a doubt sir

When we substitute the values from question to mirror formula in u and v we use sign convention in other words we use coordinates rather than distance

Now in this question should I use coordinates or the distances

Plz clarify my doubt
