Social Medicine is a movement that seeks to improve healthcare by addressing income, education, cultural, gender and other disparities. It's multidisciplinary and promotes engagement across seemingly unrelated fields of study, like humanities, public health, sociology, and community activism, for the benefit of health equity. Recently members of the Community-University Healthcare Center pledged to foster the concepts of social medicine.

Change inequality? Create job growth. Take from the rich and give to the poor? The poor will squander the money in no time and it'll be back in the hands of the rich. Besides, when you give something for free, it's never going to be good enough. If I give you my car, you'd thrash it because it didn't cost you anything and I'll have to give you another one. Yet if you buy it with your money, I don't think you'd loan it out to people.
