I bought this book, because of your recommendation. I would definitely recommend it. It's probably not the deepest book about algorithms. But it covers the basic problems with algorithms and data structures very well, so you are enabled to dive deeper if you want/need to.

Amazing book! Everything is explained in necessary detail, complexity builds on previous chapters, and you can see how they connect. This book helped me a lot! I realized that having read this one, I could finally understand many CS subjects and picked a few algorithms to dive deeper into. Knowing about concepts helps you spot the right solution to your next problem — it is your tool belt. And you can access it when needed and learn more details as you need—really, really good book. I can’t recommend it enough. Even if you have nothing to do with programming — this one is so useful.

On O'Reilly there's a video version!!
If anyone is interested in a lot of O'Reilly titles, you get access if you have an ACM account (costs $100/year which is one fifth of regular O'Reilly price per year).
I really have squeezed that subscription this year.

Q for you: I'd love to know your reading and learning habits-how do you allocate time to it and do you skim past the repetitive stuff that you often end up finding in all of the books?

Sounds like this is exactly for me. I have an art/humanities bg but have slowly drifted further into CS over the years. Thanks for the overview.

Bought this book on your recommendation and loving it! What would you say is the next book for those that are ready for the next step of understanding data structures and algorithms, after working my way through this one?

I love that book --- You are on the zeitgeit ! Perfect for a resource !!!

All the code examples in this book use Python 2.7

I am a physicist and have not had formal computer science classes, rather I taught me coding. So this sounds like a really good entry, without going the full CS101.

So, from a Python perspective, what would be the next algorithm book after this one?
Computer books are so expensive I’m reluctant to pull the trigger on buying them, but I did buy this one.

I bought this book because it was one of the random links he had in another video. I really had no idea about algorithms to be honest so this book was not bad, but like a lot of people have said it does not go into detail and is basically an overview of the topic. Its a short easy read though. You can easily read it in 1 or 2 sittings. With that being said I learned a lot but I suspect anyone that is not self taught and went to school for CS will find this book useless or maybe a refresher on the topic at best.

I really liked this book, as I don't know one thing about algorithm, other then it's steps to tell computer what to do, and that's about it

Interesting. Please, the non-English community will appreciate so much if you can add English subtitles in your videos.

I really like this book an I'll complete reading it soon. After this can I read Introduction to Algorithms by CLRS? Cause that's a huge book

I already knew a bit of algorithms. And I was trying to get better at it when I bought this book. I didn't learn much from it. Much better was Elements of Programming Interviews.

I was literally wondering if there's any playlist of books for beginners as the last few I watched were for advanced learners, coincidentally this one is for beginners 😅I always enjoy your videos and hope to read the books recommended for intermediate/advanced learners in near future, they seem really interesting 😊

I really liked this book. The author demonstrates the algorithms in a very easy way.

Your review is on point, I am the right person for the book. I was struggling to understand data structures and algorithm in my college as the professor was going through stuff really fast in quite typical language, this is opposite of that, the language is very very easy to read and the illustrations do help in understanding the topics with ease. I covered about 90% of the content and yes, it did help me in understanding the classes better. :-)

Nice, that's exactly what i need. I'm a junior CS student and want an easy introductory book before diving into CRLS to deepen my knowledge, because i'm too slow to grasp abstract concepts

I downloaded the book pdf because it's not available in my country, and it's fantastic that it made me to print it all so that i can study it with some notes and more focusing. It's really great for someone starting to consider algorithms just like me 😁
