No one ever talks about Pocahontas, but she has ALWAYS been my favorite. Don't know what that says about me psychologically, but I love her free spirit, determination to do right even if she must do it alone, and her incredible beauty & independence. Grandmother Willow is who I hope to be when I'm elderly 😅

Mulan didn't follow her "true self" for self-centered reasons, she did it to save her ill father who would have surely perished in the war. Mulan was super SELFLESS, had a higher purpose, and literally put her life on the line to save someone she loved - even if it defied societal norms. I feel like people often leave this part out and solely focus on the "being your true self and not conforming to society's norms"

Rapunzel is my absolute favorite! Tangled helped me a lot as a kid realizing how my mom acts exactly like Mother Gothel lol

I've always adored Esmeralda. She saw people's true nature and didn't go along with the crowd. She was strong, beautiful, brave, and caring. Plus she looked incredible. I loved her wild spirit and good morals.

Not a princess but my favorite Disney girl was always Alice. Her innocent curiosity, politeness but strength to hold her ground when needed, her rational mind that is, however, open to a little bit of madness - I love her! She’s a child with limitless imagination and I find comfort in her world.

Where's Aurora? She's my favorite princess.

As a young boy in an abusive home I really resonated with and saw Cinderella as a role model. Dealing with her situation as best she can, keeping a positive attitude in spite of the cruelty she faces, and never stopped believing in a better future. I still find myself humming "A dream is a wish your heart makes" as an adult when I'm doing housework.

My Disney princess was always Merida. Big curly hair just like mine, first born daughter like myself who just wanted to be free and do her own thing and never afraid to.

I remember liking Aurora as a child. My reasoning was simple: she wore pink. But upon further reflection she represented an idealized femininity that was out of reach for me as a young brown Mexican girl. I think my desire to assimilate to American society impacted me in that way. As an adult I would say my favorite princess is still Aurora and for the same reason: she wears pink and I like pink.

Belle was so on point for me. I was always this nerdy girl who was always the odd one out and bullied. Academic achiever but kinda socially awkward. Loved to read books and always dreamed for a different kind of life, hence my interest in foreign cultures and eventually marrying someone from another country.

I always liked Belle and loved Beauty and the Beast
The line "you want to escape the ordinary in search of something greater" is spot on. Always felt that way, that's why I was always alone in college ❤

Rapunzel is my favorite because I loved how she was positive, brave, and curious. She was stuck in her tower, but went out and chased her dreams. She became of the world instead of observing it. Her man found her, literally. She went and found that she was a Princess! I love her story so much!

Princess Tiana is my ultimate favorite princess. She worked for everything that she wanted in her life. Her movie reflects my life and childhood in so many ways. ❤

people never like to talk about her bc of her historical misrepresentation but i always loved pocohantas' connection to nature and the fact that her animal companions seemed more natural somehow? i loved that she lived in the moment and let herself experience the world around her from enjoying the feeling of the wind to laughing with her friend. the line "i know every rock and tree and creature has a life, has a spirit, has a name" really resonated with me; hell that whole song. and finally, the whole faulty perception and prejudice angle of the story stuck with me

idk why but this actually made me cry low key lol. snow white was always my favorite and i have been preyed upon and hurt badly by jealous women throughout my life starting with my mother. i also have always loved Esmeralda. i always resonated with her physical appearance and the fact she protects people society deems as unworthy or unimportant. ❤

My favorite has always been Ariel, as innocent and naive as she was; I always admired how she wanted that ambition and as much as how it reflects as to that need of freedom

I always thought, Ariel even as people looked down on her for being “ungrateful” I saw it in another light like how sometimes we feel as if we just really don’t belong on the place that we are and that’s ok because we can always want more. And yes, our actions will always have an outcome no matter what. It’s just that we always need to find a way to do it yet still be aware in doing so.

Mulan is my favorite princess! I always related to her because I wanted to prove myself to my family and make them proud. And YOU SHOCKED me when you said that I get defined by what I accomplished. So true and I struggle with it
Growing I had three favorite princesses from 1-7 years old I was obsessed with Ariel, then from 8-11 I was obsessed with Belle and from my teens to 20s Mulan

jasmine has been my favorite since i was a child. i always admired her for pushing back against her father trying to marry her off just bc she was a princess. "i am not a prize to be won" has stuck with me since i first saw the movie and i wish i had remembered that line more seriously in my dating life, but it's okay cuz we're here and we're fully embodied 🥰

Hard not to resonate a little with all of them but I was immediately drawn to Elsa as a young girl. The feelings of fear she portrayed really resonated with me as someone with religious trauma and OCD. Definitely struggle with pushing people away and showing vulnerability, always feeling like I have something to hide. Great video!

Not Disney but Anastasia has always been my favorite animated movie. I just love how naïve she was, in a sweet way, and that she wasn’t born into riches so when she got them they didn’t go to her head. All she ever wanted was to feel loved and have a family. Every time the Queen Dowager comes into her apartment I cry. Peppermint oil 🤧
