FPV drones are actually a really easy and inexpensive hobby to get into. Johny is a master but with a little bit of practise and some editing most people can pull off some shots that look amazing to anyone who does know FPV. welcome to the hobby, happy flying

Naah, not really. The gopro is hard mounted to the drone which has 4 moving parts, the motors.

did you see Johnny's drifting video? It's gonna leave you speechless. Also I would just like to point out that the DJI drones are like completely different things compared to racing/freestyle fpv drones. I know you mentioned it but still. I would recommend you take a look at Mr Steele and Joshua Bardwell, their videos pretty much sum up fpv. Also, these shots are not that extremely hard to get if you know how to fly decently well, but Johnny does this in such a smooth and elegant way that's why his flying is so well known in our hobby :D

Allow me to offer some definition. A drone “Operator” is someone who goes to Best Buy and swipes a card to get an HD aircraft that basically flys itself. A “Pilot” is someone who has spent years perfecting the art of flight on a machine that doesn’t rely of auto leveling and gps.

Most impressive thing I'm sure you're aware of but didn't mention is our fpv drones are fully manual. There is no stabilization you can be off access or even inverted indefinitely until you slam into the ground. But this also gives us incredible control

Being a guy that flies FPV, this video brought so many smiles.. So many have no clue what flying an FPV drone is really like. It's amazing.. And honestly, he was probably pretty calm through it all.. And he crashed a good bit too :)

FPV quads take a FREAKING BEATING. Tough af. Made of carbon fiber, and the Johnny v2 frame is one of the best.

It's really refreshing to see the someone's opinion on videos like these from outside the hobby of FPV! Make no mistake, Johnny is one of the absolute best FPV filmmakers and there's a damn good reason he gets flown all over the world to do so. But it's nice to see that even someone with perhaps just a cursory knowledge of drones can appreciate it.


The video was all shot on a GoPro Hero 7 Black, and I belive processed through a program called ReelSteady GO.

People like Johnny FPV or MrSteele just can do this ! They fly on god-level ...
But seriusly, FPV-drone-freestyle-flying is exactly this. You take a powerfull craft which is capable to do 5G maneuveres (or harder) and you have to use the acro-mode. Then it takes maybe years of training and a feeling for the flow and the scenery... and finally you have to get permission or invitation to fly at such epic spots.
I'm far below this level but it is still a big fun and immersive to do it even at unknown places.

1. FPV is life.
2 Johnny FPV is one of the best of us.
3. 2 options for reverse footage. a, reverse it in post. b, Cheater quad.
4. The complexity of flying a drone becomes even more apparent when you fly an FPV quad for the first time. Nothing automatic about them. COMPLETELY different experience from flying a photography drone.
