Paleozoic cards are unique in that they're typically trap monsters that are unaffected by monster effects. Nibiru tributes all face-up monsters after 5 monsters have been summoned. Since the only face-up monster was unaffected by its effect, Nibiru couldn't resolve since it can only summon itself if it successfully tributes a monster. Secondly, Rise to Full Height was used in this turn, which lets you banish itself from the grave to target a monster and force your opponent to ONLY attack that card. That effect stays active even if that card leaves the field, leaving them with no monsters they can attack.

Just wanted to thank people for the explanations in the comments. It really helps for people who are trying to learn when you can't read the cards btw and/or are unfamiliar with the cards ^^

So nib fizzled because it couldn't summon. It couldn't summon because it is considered a monster effect unlike a kaiju tribute and Paleo card was not effected. Could not attack because Rise to full height was played and the target card was face down(?) so no one could attack because the only target was technically not on the field to the opponent.

Ahh. It's always terrifying to go against a weird deck you never played against and suddenly you can't do anything and you have no idea what it is that won't let you do anything.

And sometimes you feel pressured to play something instead of taking the time to read the cards so I don't really blame anyone that has done something like this

He used the trap 'Rise to Full Height", . Which could not conduct the opponents battle phase.

Had a similar case using Melffy, opponent tried to clean the slate. End result: all my monsters were fine, and they lost their entire board because of hide and seek.

They surrendered right after that.
