Former French PM condemns silence on Israel’s war in Gaza

Former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin called the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza "the biggest scandal" and criticised the French government for its silence.

I will never forget Dominique de Villepin's speech of 2003 in front of the UN security council where he stood up against the US neo-cons and condemned the invasion of Iraq based on lies. That day I was proud of having been raised in France. This, however, was the last time France asserted its independence. All subsequent French governments became subservient to the US and NATO with the EU a mere lapdog. I share Dominique de Villepin's moral indignation when I see what France has become.
