Credit repair is the process of investigating accounts listed on your credit report to ensure that they are being reported completely, fairly and accurately and that the information that is being reported can be validated and verified.

According to the FCRA if the accounts in question are not being reported in a complete, fair and accurate manner or cannot be verified and validated the consumer can demand that the account be adjusted or even deleted from the credit report.

Deletion of negative accounts from the credit file such as collection accounts, accounts that have been charged off, or accounts that are reporting late payment history.

It is important for consumers to understand that credit repair does not erase debt, increase credit limits, guarantee approvals of any credit cards or loans, offer any guaranteed results such as deletions or corrections of negative accounts or increases in credit scores. It is nothing but an investigation process.
