Funny that yourmain argument against the Wolverines is the fact that Michigan lost to a 1-AA team five years ago, because aside from a few decent seasons recently, MSU doesn't have anything to boast about against UM. Even funnier is that MSU lost to Michigan that same season at home, so what does that say about the Spartans? UM may have had a few bad seasons, but they at least have been able to stay in the discussion for the Big Ten title late into the season for most of the past decade.

If you were watching MSU's anemic run game against the more dominant Michigan defense, you would understand that the only way MSU was going to get the first down and run out the clock was if they could pass the ball. There was no way the Spartans could get the first running the ball. They had to throw it, or else they would have given us the ball anyways.

MSU has won a grand total of 1/3 of a Big Ten championship in the last 23 years, with their most recent "championship" season ending with them losing by 42 points to a 3 loss Alabama team. Most experts and sportswriters picked MSU to win the Big Ten this year and go to the Rose Bowl, and then you went 7-6, including a loss to a 4-8 Iowa team at home. The last time your team was a serious national title contender was during the Johnson Administration. You have no room to talk.

Whether it was a good game, bad game or a lucky game. Bottom line is MSU had 4 full quarters to out score Michigan and failed. As a result the Paul Bunyan trophy stays in Ann Arbor.

Ah...yes. Quite right. You sure we had two, though? I perhaps thought we just had one. Still, MSU would have forced our hand right then and there to burn one. I'm just surprised Marky Mark threw the pass. If you're gonna throw there, you have to throw a safe pass with an almost 100% completion chance. Make the other team use up their time outs when they don't have possession.

I don't think making one stupid call makes a coach stupid, period. Every good coach makes bad decisions from time to time. I thought this was one of them. I love Brady Hoke and think he's a great coach -- but I've seen him do some stupid things from time to time over the course of his short tenure so far at Michigan. That's all I was trying to say here.

Thanks man, you know it's important that the respective camps [OSU & UM] understand that one is not great without the other, we are tied to one another. Our seasons are not complete without the defeat of the other, can't wait til next Blue.

I didn't call him stupid. Not at all. I just thought *that particular decision* was stupid. Maybe that was too harsh of a word. I'll give Dantonio full credit for resurrecting this program from the ashes of John Loser Smith and reinvigorating this rivalry. In no way do I think he's a bad, or a stupid, coach. I would re-read my post above and then realize why you're not a careful reader.

Your logic is flawed there. Calling one's decision stupid != to saying they are stupid. Everyone makes dumb mistakes from time to time. Doesn't make them stupid.
