Ball Peen Hammer Restoration

Показать описание
As I need a ball peen hammer for my current restoration project, I asked my friend from the steel waste if he can look out for one for me. It took him only 1 day to find one, well he actually found two. I asked you guys on Instagram and Facebook if you'd like to see a quick video about this restoration and the answer was a clear yes. So, here it is. I only restored one of the two hammers in front of the camera, ou can see pictures of both finished hammers on Instagram and Facebook.

I hope you like my work and the video.

I'm so glad that you continue to do what you do, namely make high-quality videos without unnecessary music or talking. Let the tools speak for themselves. Beautiful. You're an artist.

Sharp edges: exist
MM: not on my watch

Id like to think that your house doesn't have one sharp edge in it anywhere and that you carry files everywhere you go, smoothing out sharp edges around the world. Another awesome job! Thanks so much!

We have a bunch of hammers for sheet metal working in the workshop where I work. But NONE is as neet as this one ... Even the new ones! You can't form a piece of metal without correctly prepared hammers. This tool turned to a beautiful one, thanks to passionate rework. Congratulations

I inherited an old ball pein hammer from my father and did a very similar job. I was able to keep the old handle and sanded it to freshen the colour, coating it two or three times with gunstock oil to show the grain. I did the same with an old wooden-handled carpenter's screwdriver from my grandfather.
Old tools are old friends. They have a story to tell. And they have earned the right to be respected.
Thank you for this delightful video: very satisfying.

I appreciate the shot of the old handle being put away into the drawer for future projects. It really shows that all parts are well cared for

My God, man. Who would have thought that restoring a hammer would be so satisfying to watch? Beautiful!

You've nailed the formula for these videos and really set the bar for others. Don't change

The chiselling, sandblasting and painting were extremely satisfying to watch. I need a sandblaster in my shed.

"for protection and aesthetics" what else can one ask in a hammer right?

I love that when he needs something for a restoration he does a full other restoration first. Just the best channel on YouTube.

Hello MM! First of all thanks for the video. This kind of a little bit more "simple" project are so enjoyable to watch. Love your attention to the details.

The sand blasting and polishing are so satisfying to watch. The processes really transform a chunk of steel.
