Another way is like why 2^0 is 1. You’re just dividing by the previous term so 2!=2 -> /2, 1!=1 -> /1, 0!=1. This is also why you can’t have (-1)!, as dividing by 0 is… complicated.

It just makes more sense for 0 factorial to be 1 factorial divided by one
