I tried OKO for the first time yesterday. We were in a busy area in Midtown Houston. It helped with crossing the street, just a described.

If you do another video you might want to give the referral link earlier. I downloaded it due to your referral but it was downloaded before I got to the point where you mentioned the referral link.

Great video. But if you have crosswalks that are not verbal or audible you need to contact your A.D.A for your local highway district and get them upgraded. I have fought for crosswalks in my neighborhood and finally getting them installed. All with audible signals.

This is such an amazing app. Crosswalk signals are always such a pain, especially the older ones that don't have the haptics and sound alerts. When I was commuting to an office, I was always running into situations where I couldn't see the crosswalk signal, and had too many close calls since following the flow of traffic isn't always reliable (especially the way some people drive). the OKO app makes crossing so much easier, and even though I work from home and don't have to commute to an office, I still have this handy tool to help me if I want to walk to the store or just go for a walk for exercise. Now we just needs an app that tells us when there are no oncoming vehicles and it is safe to cross a street where there is no crosswalk available :)

May 27th & just watched your video. Happy to see you putting information out there.
I really like the idea of the “hands free” phone on a lanyard. Most drivers become angered when pedestrians walking across the street are holding cell phones near their faces. Keep the improvements coming! 😎👀👍

I have an android phone, but am considering buying another used iPhone to take advantage of this app. Like Sam, I have enough vision to cross a street but can't really see the walk signal. If necessary, I can buy a cheap data only cell plan. But having an android version would be even better.

Not yet available in Canada. We possibly use different crosswalk systems here. A big white guy tells us when it’s safe to cross. Not to be racist, he really is white. Ha ha ha imagine a white glowing man. A stick man. Anyway. I’m so happy that Americans who are blind can use this app to help them better. Navigate busy intersection. Keep up the amazing work.

I wonder how it works with double set of traffic lighys, how to know if the light is for the orst or the latter part of the crossing?

This app cannot recognize the green light of Korean traffic signals. However, it recognizes the red light well.

Is this app available for Android phones?

There are people looking for Android apps, but if you have a visual impairment, it's better to switch to an iPhone as soon as possible.
