CGI 3D Animated Short 'Oxygen' - by Murat Kilic

The world becomes a desert and the air can not be inhaled because of pollution. This great 3D animated short film called "Oxygen" is about struggles of our hero who survived under favor of oxygen bottles and his attempts of growing plants in his own laboratory to produce oxygen! I think the moral of the story is that humanity can fix even its greatest mistakes, and those fixes are worth risking ones own life for.

What the man is trying to achieve finally works, but he does not survive long enough to see it. Most unfortunate!

There was a movie on the "old" SciFi Channel that had the same plotline. The premise was that they had to build air snorkels high into atmosphere to get the oxygen needed to breathe and survive. Everyone was dressed in 1940's style clothing and listened to big band music. They remade the sewers into an underground city. I think it had the same title as the short, I only saw it once in the early 2000's. In the end, they use the Earth's oceans to make air doing away with the snorkels.

I'm a little bit sad. The old man, maybe the last person on the Earth, who suffocated and never saw the beauty that he created.
But I'm afraid that the world will end like this one day (or it can be worse - no brave hearts and no attempts).

It makes me happy, the fact that we still have nature and plants and animals and water and family and friends and everything like this! But I'm also afraid because we don't know "for how long will we have it?"
 
Yeah, and it's here. The thing you all knew will come.
"Save the trees!" "Tree is Life!" "Save the Rainforests!" = We see this all around us, and we say: "Yup, that's a good idea! We will save nature!"
And then? Nothing. Even me, I'm not doing anything special - I recycle and I don't smoke. And that's all my help. I'm trying to tell you: "You should do something!" And than I look into mirror and... God.

I like cars, because it's faster. I like paper, because I love drawing. I use lot of water - for drinking, to washing my hands, showers, washing... I do lot of things.
But I still like walking in parks, the smell of forests, the autumn colours, the look at sunset (such a romantik, heh?)

I know that I'm just talking and not helping, but at least I wanted to write it and share it with you.
So, please, don't judge me; don't judge my english; don't judge people, who are TRYING.

So... yeah, that's it... I hope that's all I wanted to tell you... (and I know no one will read it - it's too long, I know)

You could use algae. Cyanobacteria as well. Because oxygen production is their job. But we have used on to an plants that makes less than 20% of oxygen on the Earth.
