I'm in the process of looking to purchase a 4X12 cab, so I made a quick comparison between a few speakers that are commonly found in 4X12 cabs, in impulse response form to assist in my decision.

Unfortunately the speaker I like the most from this comparison doesn't come standard in any production 4X12 cab (that I'm aware of).

Hi, I have tried all 3 to replace an Alnico blue. Although it has a bit less in efficiency rate, I like the balance of the G12M. The bass is tight, the mids are well placed in the spectrum and the treble frequencies are not shrieky. The Chinese Greenback is a bit trebly in comparison, and the Heritage reproduces the high mids quite well but, all in all, the G12M gives us the tone of the '70s we know and love, like the original Greenbacks: Hendrix on a neck pickup of a Strat, Clapton, Page, Kossof... The resonance is very good and my riffs are rejuvenated !

i play OH WELL through both speakers all the time. not together, separately. perfect riff to hear a break in distortion and the underlying clarity in the note that i like. the g12h30 cant be beat. seems when an amp break or a peddle is used and things star getting muddy, the 12h30 just sings to me, this is using a 15 watt amp with gain and volume. great demo

How you like the H30 Annies? My fave speaker is the Chinese 25W Greenback in my 1960ax but im using a pair of UK M25 Greenbacks on a 2x12 which sound pretty dark. I would like to add a bit of sparkle and bite to the tone.
