I’m a glorified lube tech at the shop that I work at, which means I do a lot of the inspections. Can confirm that about 1/4-1/3 of all air filter that I look at need changing. And it’s gotten more common as the air quality has tanked around here due to all the wild fires and smoke to our west

Hello Scotty. What do you think of the "lifetime" air filter on the ford focus? Should I change it out with a different paper air filter? Idk what it looks like yet. Just bought the car.

The oil bath air filtration system was and is superior. After MT. Saint Helens irupted in 1980 vehicles used for logging downed trees would destroy the engine with regular airliners because of volcanic ash. The oil bath system were the only ones that protected the engine. The oil was changed everyday.
