Absolutely!  Emoji's are the same concept as ancient hieroglyphics

The way I personally use emojis is to communicate a casualness because without them a message can look angry or overly-serious. But I don't really use emojis that often so my opinion isn't the most interesting.

I would personally prefer language to stay with words and/or scripts. I don't really think the emoji should be considered too much for people to use in day-to-day conversation. It is feasible, I guess, in some ways, such as travelling. As for the Chinese character that was in your video, it was simplified and I much prefer the traditional I learnt back in Taiwan moreso because it has the 心 (heart) character in the word for love 愛 :3 Personal preferences I guess haha :)

Interesting video. I wouldn't say that emoji can be used as a language in its own right, but as a kind of text based body language. It's also not totally universal - 😤 is a Japanese emoji that means triumph but we English tend to use it for anger - imagine how confusing that could be: "Just passed all my university exams 😤."

Side note - just discovered your channel - love it! I've just started learning Norwegian and that's made me start watching ALL THE LANGUAGE VIDEOS!

Emojis are now a hybrid language. They are part language and not at the same time.

I think that as emojis develope, it is easier to understand. However I can only really understand the Android Dialect, most of the Apple dialect. But the SnapChat dialect is hard.

There is no grammar in emojis, but you could understand them.
