Medicinal uses of Sassafrass

in this video we read from the Lost book of Herbal Remedies about some of the medicinal benifits of Sassafras. it is a very common tree here in the southeast and not much danger in over harvest.

I live in Texas but I'm moving back to North Carolina and my mother and family they live in main and my mother is really getting into all this natural herbs. The doctors have had her on Gabapentin and hydrocodone And all kinds of other s*** that Is just Adding more problems to her body. So i would love to get her a book

Hi, there. I enjoyed this video. Very informative. I've also heard of that same book you read from and have been thinking about getting it. They say it grows in the eastern U.S., which is where I live now (the SE). I'm not sure if I could find any though; there is a park within walking distance for hiking where I live, but not sure if I would have any luck (I live in pine country, and so it's almost nothing but pine trees). I'm originally from Texas but have been living in NC for the past 15 years. Speaking of which, are you by any chance a North Carolinian yourself? You're accent sounds exactly like what I hear down here.

I've been learning about WL. I just pulled some up for space for the strawberries. The latex was coming out of the roots where it broke. Can you cook the roots with the leaf and make a tea out of it. WL is growing all over my yards. I'm drying some now for tea. Some are seeding. If Anyone is around Ozark AR I will share the WL and Tea.

Many studies discredited that study that injected it in rats. It gets digested differently in humans. In case your worried they say boiling for 15 min removes safrol oil.

Almost all parts of the tree can be used medicinally for skin inflammations, wound healing headaches, menstrual pain kidney problems fluid retention, arthritis,dental care, lice treatment and the leaves can be dried and powdered and used as a food thickener 😊
