I think saddle stitching is a high end hand topstitching technique. You used to see it on expensive jackets if I'm getting the name right.

Always fun to look at new patterns with you! I will get 3012 because that is the kind of thing I really wear every day (but not in the summer 😁!) . I like a couple of the coat patterns but they are so similar to patterns I already have it doesn't make sense to get them. I don't know why they didn't suggest fleece for that one pattern - makes it easier to sew, too, with not having to finish seams. I like the Luxe fleece from Joann - made an easy cape from it one time that looks so soft and luxurious!
