Google Workspace Gets New AI Features (Cloud Next 2023)

At Google Cloud Next 2023, Google announces new Duet AI features for its Workspace products such as Meet.

Useful features in a lot of industries, I'm sure... I do wonder if some companies will distrust allowing the AI to "listen in" so closely to private business meetings? I also what kind of large-scale company-wide mistakes are going to come from employees not fact-checking the presentations made by AI. It could probably quite easily misconstrue charts and other data in ways that people attending the meeting won't pick up on, and decisions might be made with bad info all because people trusted the AI to do it. Although, perhaps even more interesting will be when the AI makes no mistakes, and company execs realize that the AI runs the business better from top-to-bottom than even they or other experts can.

Clearly this improves productivity -- need a presentation done by noon on Friday? How about done right now, in 2 minutes? Heck, skip the meeting, the AI has already let investors know that things are moving in a profitable direction, and has okayed the production, hired contractors, and distributors for that matter... I mean, couldn't it get there in the near future, conceivably?

So... are we REALLY just building this for the execs at the very top? Capitalism does have a way of finding new ways for us to stay busy working, but I'm curious where this "productivity-workplace AI" is actually leading.

Not an impresseive presentation, specially when you are presenting AI capabilities of creating an presentation. Product lacks substance or the way it was presented was not upto the mark. Will see how it evolves.
