Unboxing the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, the cheapest Moto flagship phone of 2023, boasting a 50MP camera with OIS, impressive gaming performance and excellent battery life. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is one of the best-specced smartphones for a budget of £300 and here's my hands-on review.

First up, that design is stunning. You have a choice of Pantone colours, with a leather-style finish for two of the models. Around front you have a curved pOLED screen with 144Hz refresh and 1300 nits of brightness. And the Motorola Edge 40 Neo also has a stereo-ish speaker setup.

That dual lens camera is decent enough for most people's everyday photography. The focus is fast and even indoors, your shots won't look too grainy. However, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo is beaten by the Pixel 7a, if you have a bit more cash.

Gaming on PubG, Genshin Impact etc is a smooth and cool experience too. And this Moto phone offers a generous amount of storage, up to 256GB - although without microSD support.

Battery life is another winner, allowing you to play on the Motorola Edge 40 Neo all day. You even have 68W fast charging support if you need a top up. So overall, this is one of the best phones for £300, despite the meagre OS upgrade support.

I just purchased this phone on the January sales from Amazon for only £250, and I must say, this is a eye pleasing phone to look at, and the feel is perfect, what shocked me the most is the quality of the camera for this budget, it's crystal clear and the video recording in the front and back camera is 4k clear, just wow, well done Motorola 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I just bought one of these from Motorola. £249.99 including Bose Quietcomfort 2 earbuds. It replaces a Pixel 6 and feels like a step forward, bar the camera. A really nice design and great performance.

Motorola know what they are doing. I had a Moto X as my first smart phone and it was great. They have only gotten better and seem to produce great low to mid range phones. How can this be £300 with all the features it has????
