The Mona Lisa has long been a logistical nightmare because you're literally crammed into a room with more tourists than oxygen, most of whom experience it through the shaky lens of their phone cameras. The result is just a chaotic sea of outstretched arms, all desperate for the same pixelated, reflection-ridden photo that Google could provide in higher resolution. You don’t so much see the painting as survive the experience; dodging selfie sticks, enduring aggressive shoving, and grappling with the existential crisis of realizing you’ve traveled thousands of miles just to catch a fleeting glimpse of a 30-inch portrait, trapped behind bulletproof glass and an impenetrable human barricade.

I’ve been to the louvre multiple times and I have a trick to see Ms Mona without having to waiting. What I did is once you leave the room, the exit is behind the Mona Lisa, and you basically are next to Ms Mona for a few seconds so I got some amazing photos close up and waited like 2 seconds. However people behind me were doing the same thing, and got yelled at by security, but they don’t do much besides say “hey, let’s not do that”
