For quiet time I lay down my 2 year old and my 6 year old will do educational apps on the ipad. I know technology isn't the best but shes so fidgety and hyper that this is the only way she is quiet and sits still. And it's the only time during the day she is allowed technology unless we are doing reading eggs together on the computer or mathseeds.

I ADORE your color-coded block scheduling for the rhythm of the week!! I'm trying to craft one for the fall, but with G8 in cottage school twice a week, I'm all confused as to how to arrange it for next year. I think blocking out the time like you did, instead of going hour by hour, will be helpful. I second your request for quiet time advice! I love how much we love planners - I want to go to one of those intense Japanese planner stores with you!

Love the flow of your week and completely agree: kids have such a better capacity to learn at the start of the week and I should shift the brainier lessons to then.

We have a 7, 5, 4 and 1 year olds. Totally love the siestas. We have trained our 7 year old to read in quite times. Try getting your eldest to choose special 'quiet time' books from the library (so miss libraries (none in Thailand)) and only allow access to the books in quite time!

MS Excel is cool, have you tried google's equivalent? Sheets I think it's called. Really cool: free and easy to share content with others!
