@cmac5909 In Hueco Mundo Arc he took a month to learn Hollowfication, and a couple days to master Kuroi GetsugaTenshou, then used up 3 more months in the Dangai to obtain Saigo GetsugaTenshou (which was a few minutes in real time). In Lost Agent Arc, he went a year and a half without any powers, learned Fullbring in like, a week, then got his Shinigami powers back at the end of the week. But overall, this story only spans about two years xD (counting the time skip)

Seeing the last episode knowing Sasakibe had a bankai and he got wrecked by SS Ichigo in one hit is kind of disappointing.

@cmac5909 No I was just talking about the Soul Society Arc. He basically learned everything in half a month. Cuz he spent 10 days with Urahara. 1 day in Rukongai. 1 more day at Kukaku's. Then spent uh... two days getting to Rukia, then left. So he learned, how to fight with his Shikai, GetsugaTenshou, and Bankai to the extent he could match a captains power for a short while, in half a month. That's some epic learning rate.

it's weird. Sasakibe or whatever the name is of squad 1 vice captain, is captain level, has bankai, but still get his ass wooped so easily.

Well that is certainly a more optimistic reason than what I thought ;) I haven't watched the anime in ages though, I switched to the manga after I got fed up with the anime going slowly and the animation not being as good as it was pre-episode 60ish
