Major Fashion Moment in Film I Analyzing The Red Dress in Jezebel (1938)

They offered Gone with the Win to Bette. At the time she was fighting for better roles. When Warner told her they had a film for her (Gone with the Wind) she basically turned it down thinking it was a junk role. There is give and take. A young woman I met sometime back had a boyfriend, and they loved each other, but she said to him, "don't ever ask me to marry you". Because she had seen her own mother's subservience to her father, and it had made her angry.... Women don't realize that some (most?) men want the security and comfort that marriage provides. So she lost him to someone who was willing to compromise. Choices have consequences.
