This is on point. I hate it when people say a player is making others better simply because he passes the ball and has the most assists, it’s more than that.

Kobe might be the hardest working sports athlete I legit ever saw, you could hear the determination and power in his tone when he speaks nfs, that’s a real leader

“There was so much going on in my mind that when I started out the game, I actually communicated with my teammates, all right, I’ve got to really just settle into this moment, ” Irving continued. “I think it came going into almost ending the second quarter, that moment right there happened, and I was like, okay, I’m fine.

“All I was thinking in the back of my mind was Mamba mentality, just Mamba mentality. That’s all I was thinking.”

Going to miss this dude forever, I'm only a month younger than Kobe an was lucky enough to watch pretty much every game he played. As a Laker fan I grew up getting to watch him grow an dominate the NBA.

THAT'S FUCKIN LEADERSHIP! Colin Cowherd has the balls to say Kobe wasn't a leader SMH. It's not about PASSING - it's about channeling your teammates emotions to get the best out of them.

Kobe made his teammates better. First half of his career he played within the team system and allowed teammates to make plays. Unlike teammates of LeBron or Harden who simply stand around and wait for the ball; that won't win you championships or make the team or teammates better.
In the second half of Kobe's career it became more personal, learning what triggers his teammates, getting the best out of each individual. Media created hype claiming Kobe was a bad teammate who couldn't make the players around him better, and then pointed at LeBron as the perfect player who makes everyone better and all players in the league want to play with LeBron. In recent years we've learned this is complete opposite and it's far from the truth. Kobe is a true winner, on and off the court btw, and had the ultimate package in terms of skills on both ends, heart, mentality and leadership. LeBron is a top 5 player ever, but hogging the ball so that you get the points or assist every possession doesn't make the team or your teammates better. We appreciate you, Kobe! The best to ever play this beautiful game along with MJ.🐐🐐🔥
