When you set the idle do it in the water or in a bucket. On the hose the motor doesn't have any back pressure and this will cause the motor to idle high.

Btw, its best to adjust the carb in water or a water container to create back pressure before adjusting the carb needle. My 30hp evinrude was adjusted without bak pressure and caused so much issues on lake. Now it runs like a champ for an 85!

Hi, I recently replaced the water pump on my motor. Everything seemed to go to plan. When I reassembled it, the propeller spins freely in neutral, but the prop does not spin (by hand) either direction in forward or reverse. Not sure if that is normal or if it should spin CW or CCW depending on being in forward or reverse. Any thoughts? P.S. - great videos BTW.
