Fall Driving Series - Skid Recovery

Have you ever been driving down the road on a rainy or snowy day, start to make a turn and the rear of your vehicle begins to lose control? Skidding can be a scary situation for most drivers.

Trooper Travis Joyce offers these simple tips to help you control your vehicle during a skid: (1) Look where you want the vehicle to go; (2) reduce power; and (3) Steer in the direction of the skid. Wait for your tires to regain traction and you'll be able to breath a sigh of relief as you continue down the road!

It's also helpful to practice good driving habits of turning on headlights, slowing down, and increasing your following distance. Stay safe out there!
